Bedrule Church

Ruberslaw Parish Church Much of the fine church at Bedrule was built or renewed in the latter part of the 19th century. There is however mention of a Parson of Bedrule in the 15th century therefore, it is reasonable to believe that some form of divine building stood here since 100 years before the Reformation. William Turnbull of that ilk was born at Bedrule and was Bishop of Glasgow and founded Glasgow University in 1481. The remains of Turnbull Castle are nearby.
