Calvary Presbyterian Church

New Life at Calvary Presbyterian Church, located at 2020 E. 79th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. The Victorian Romanesque Revival style building was designed by famed local Cleveland architect Charles Schweinfurth. Construction began in 1888 and was finished in 1892. The then-predominantly white Calvary Presbyterian congregation formally took a stand against racial segregation in 1953. Itbecame one of the first racially integrated congregations in Cleveland. The building's gymnasium was struck by an EF-1 tornado in 2023, which ripped the roofs off the sanctuary, fellowship hall, and gymnasium.
