In September 2011, 10 years after the attack on the World Trade Center, the firefighters from Clyde, North Carolina created a monument to their fallen comrades. Part of the monument consists of two pieces of steel from the fallen buildings, as seen here flanking the central pillar. The fencework surrounding the monument was designed to mimic the outside appearance of the lobby of the World Trade Center.
