Steeple of Roman Catholic St. James Church at 2940 S. Wabash Street in Bronzeville, Chicago, USA. The St. James Church, built by the Patrick C. Keely, from 1875 to 1880 suffered from a fire on 22 December 1972. The church was restored by Paul Straka between 1974 and 1975. The St. James parish dates back to 1855, then an Irish immigrant congregation. St. James became the “Mother Church” of many Southside parishes. The building was demolished in June 2013.
