Type Museum

The roll of paper from the previous machine (see picture monotype -a) is used by this machine to create the actual type. A tiny vat of molten type - mostly lead - is transformed into individual hot metal types and then put togethor with the other letters to form the block of metal type with which to create the printed text. The machine is powered by compressed air and is seen here being operated by one of the guys who work at the Type Museum.
